In October 1991, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Archeology excavated 689 oracle bone artifacts at Yinxu garden, Huadong, calling this excavation 91 Huadong H3. In December 2003, Yunnan People Publishing House published Yinxu Garden Huadong Oracle Bone Inscriptions in six volumes, edited by Liu Yiman, Cao Dingyun et al. This article will examine the negative adverbs that appear in these oracle bone inscriptions, which are largely confined to 8 major characters: mei, wu, fei, wu, fu, wang, bu, and wu. This article will examine the abovementioned negative adverbs with regards to both grammatical function and statistical data, such as the relative frequency of such characters.
