畜養牡台灣梅花鹿及牡台灣水鹿之生殖性狀分析:以直腸電刺激採精法進行精液性狀評估

Evaluation of Reproductive Characteristics of Farmed Formosan Sika Deer (Cervus Nippon Taiouanus) and Formosan Sambar Deer (Cervus Unicolor) during Breeding Season: An Electro-ejaculation Study

摘要


本研究的目的在於評估繁殖季節台灣梅花鹿(十月至翌年三月)及台灣水鹿(六月至九月)之睪丸及精液等生殖性狀。梅花鹿(n=12)及水鹿(n=15)的單顆睪丸平均容積分別為124.3±71.3 vs 126.9±72.7 cm^3、陰囊周徑為23.4±5.3 vs 23.5±5.5 cm和睪丸硬度為3.4±0.9 vs 3.4±0.6。以人為保定電刺激採精,梅花鹿及水鹿的平均精液量分別為0.7±0.5 vs 1.4±0.7 mL、精子濃度為1612.0±873.2 vs 557.0±344.8 x 10^6/mL、精子活力為70.4±10.8 vs 75.5±9.3%及精子正常形態比率≧80% vs ≧80%。間隔一週重覆採得之精液其性狀於兩鹿種中皆有部分鹿隻出現明顯之差異現象。在梅花鹿各種精液性狀於配種期間前後段並無差異,梅花鹿精子總長為65.9±2.7μm而其頭部、中片及尾部所佔比例為15%、19%及66%。水鹿精子總長為65.4±1.7μm而各部比例為14%、20%及66%,梅花鹿及水鹿精子平均長度均較文獻中其它鹿種為長。台灣梅花鹿及台灣水鹿生殖性狀的建立可作為種鹿繁殖性能鑑定,精液保存及人工授精時之有力參考。

This study was carried out to evaluate the reproductive characteristics of Formosan Sika deer and Formosan Sambar deer during their breeding seasons. Testicular volume of Sika deer (n = 12) and Sambar (n = 15) was respectively 124.3 ± 71.3 vs 126.9 ± 72.7 cm^3, scrotal circumference was 23.4 ± 5.3 vs 23.5 ± 5.5 cm and testicular density was 3.4 ± 0.9 vs 3.4 ± 0.6. Obtaining from electro-ejaculation , semen volume of Sika and Sambar deer was respectively 0.7 ( 0.5 vs 1.4 ± 0.7 mL, sperm concentration was 1612.0 ± 873.2 vs 557.0 ± 344.8 x 10^6/mL , motility was 70.4 ± 10.8 vs 75.5 ± 9.3 % and percentage of morphologically normal spermatozoa was 80 % vs 80 %. No difference was noted in reproductive characteristics of Sika deer between the onset and end period of breeding season. Successive semen collections one week apart revealed distinction of semen traits in few bucks of both breeds. Total sperm length of Sika and Sambar deer was respectively 65.9 ±2.7 vs 65.4 ± 1.7 μm while the proportion of head, midpiece and tail domain to total length was respectively 15%, 19% and 66% in Sika deer and corresponding data of Sambar deer was respectively 14%; 20% and 66%. These data obtained could be used to valuate the breeding potential and beneficial to the semen preservation and artificial insemination in these two cervine breeds.
