An Ultrasonographic Study of Exercise and Position Effects on Soft-tissue Structures of Horse Metacarpus 3 and Metatarsus 3

以超音波進行運動與肢體位置對馬第三掌骨與蹠骨區域軟組

摘要


本試驗之主要目前在以超音波檢測運動對於馬前、後肢四種軟組織(淺趾屈肌腱、深趾屈肌腱、抑制韌帶及懸韌帶)大小之影響。試驗中,選用18匹年齡介於7至11歲且經過臨床與超音波檢查為健康之馬,分別於三種不同之生理活動下(運動前、未載人運動及載人運動),計測每匹馬在第三掌骨與蹠骨區域之上部、中部及下部之軟組織表現。數據顯示,在載人運動後,位於後肢下部之淺趾屈肌腱(SDFT)、深趾屈肌腱(DDFT)及懸韌帶(SL)之橫切面積(CSA)均普遍有顯著增加(p<0.05)。此外,在不同之負荷下,生理活動之方式、前、後肢及軟組織所位於之區域均可影響各軟組織橫切面積之表現。

We examined the effect of exercise upon the ultrasonographically measured size of the flexors of the fore and hindlimbs of the horse. Eighteen adult mixed riding horses, ranging from 7 to 11 years, were studied in this experiment. The sectional variations of the superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT), the deep digital flexor tendon (DDFT), the inferior check ligament (ICL) and the suspensory ligament (SL) were assessed by diagnostic ultrasound with a 7.5 MHz transducer. The cross-sectional area (CSA) and circumferences of the above four soft-tissue structures were measured at six regions in three physical activities (i.e. before exercise, after ten-minute riderless running and after ten-minute riding exercise). After riding exercise, the lower regions of the CSA of the SDFT, DDFT, and SL of the hindlimbs increased generally. There was a significant difference between the forelimbs and hindlimbs. Many factors such as the types of physical activities, limbs, and regions can affect the CSA of the soft-tissue structures at different loading levels.
