The clinical presentations of cerebellar stroke differ from those of cerebral stroke. The articles about acupuncture for cerebellar stroke are fewer than those of cerebral stroke. We describe a 66-year-old men with ataxia and dysmetria caused by right cerebellar hemorrhage without other cognitive impairments. Besides acupuncturing the patient with acupuncture points such as Nei-Kuan, Tai Chong, BaiHui, Feng chi, we followed up the patient's functional independence measure and the result of neurological examination to assess the serial changes in the patient's motor coordination. It took us five months to follow up the case during the hospital course of Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the course of Chinese Acupuncture outpatient department. We also review the relative articles about acupuncture for cerebellar stroke to discuss whether acupuncture benefits people with coordination disorders casused by cerebellar stroke.
