Urbanization and rapid growth of Taiwanese economy has led to massive relocation of workforce and aged the demographic structure in the rural community. In addition, decades of imbalanced infrastructure development between urban and rural area further deteriorates the level of competiveness and cultural diversity of rural community. In the past few years, the government gradually put emphasis on revising the ill-organized development plan in rural community. By implementing programs like comprehensive community development, low carbon sustainable homeland, annual manpower training plan of Rural Rejuvenation, relevant ministries have orderly and constantly transforming the agriculture-oriented economy and activating the recycling potential in rural community. It is expected that Taiwanese rural community moves towards a sustainable, self-sustained, regional resource-oriented and environmental friendly life style.
