Since the armistice of Korean War both North and South Korea have kept confronting each other and engaging in psychological warfare. The "Republic of Korea (ROK) Armed Forces Psychological Warfare Corps" and other units are in charge of conducting some conventional psychological warfare activities against North Korea. Besides, these units have also adopted several measures such as cultural communication, online information, etc. TO win the supports from the North Korean military and civilians for the South's democracy and free system, and ultimately shaking the legitimacy of the North's Kim regime. The effectiveness of the South's psychological warfare can be seen from the repeated protests from the North as well as continuous North Korean defection incidents. This study concludes that the direction and policy of the ROK Armed Forces Psychological Warfare have been repeatedly regulated along with changes in the ROK government's stance on North Korea as well as the North's provocative actions. The current Moon Jae-in government is actively seeking a reconciliation with the North, and has ceased some parts of the psychological warfare operations. Yet, provided the two Koreas fail to halt the hostilities, the psychological warfare is inevitable and likely to continue.
