摘要

全球化的時代來臨，有關國際衛生安全，需要所有國家密切聯繫合作，才能有效維繫。在醫院評鑑及醫學中心的任務指標中，也明定醫療院所需配合國家衛生醫療政策，積極參與國際衛生活動，並提供必要國際醫療援助。在參與國際醫療活動過程，體驗了惡劣不方便的醫療環境及陌生有別於先前的感染症醫療經驗時的內心掙扎後，感受到海外醫療援助之於感染科醫師而言，確實是個能發揮本身所學的另一個舞台，在這些海外醫療的活動及經驗中，見識到有很多以往只在書本上讀過的知識，而臨床經驗上卻從未見過之傳染性疾病，這些歷練是無價的。無論是實際的經驗累積或是站在研究的角度上，都是有所助益的。

In this era of globalization, intimate international cooperation is required to ensure public health security. The Taiwan Joint Commission of Hospital Accreditation has recently clarified that medical centers should promote national healthcare policies, participate in global healthcare activities, and provide overseas medical services in the future. I have gained valuable and professionally and personally satisfying experience while working as an infectious disease specialist in developed countries and while participating in healthcare services abroad. We encountered rare and specialized cases of infection diseases each time we worked in areas outside Taiwan that lacked sufficient medical services. Most of these cases have not been published in the literature. The experience obtained from working in foreign countries is beneficial in clinical practice or in research.
