ВЫРАЖЕНИЕ НЕОТЧУЖDАЕМОЙ ПОСЕССИИ В УDМУРТСКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ

並列摘要

The present paper describes the semantic and grammatical dimensions of the category of inalienable possession in Udmurt. The language material proves that in Udmurt there is a special morpheme which is intended to mark inalienable possession and another morpheme which marks alienable possession. According to the way those morphemes combine with nouns a classification of words with inalienable semantics was developed, revealing that in the Udmurt language nouns which designate body parts, the mental state of a human being, spatial concepts, parts of inanimate objects, relational concepts, kinship etc. can be considered as inalienable. In kinship terms inalienable semantics appears in a descending line (e.g. daughter, son, younger brother, younger sister). From the syntactic point of view those nouns tend to be presented in juxtaposition with the possessor, while their use in predicative constructions is restricted. However, as in many languages the phenomena of possessor deletion and possessor ascension appear in the Udmurt language as well.
