The Gu Jin Tan Gai by Meng-Long Feng shows the characteristic style by combining various fables, jokes and satirical essays. However, the titles and versions present differences in successive dynasties. This study aims to discuss the version and title issues of the Gu Jin Tan Gai and to clarify the omissions and faults of the explanatory notes, therefore to establish the solid foundation of the follow-up studies.
