Spinal meningiomas with calcification and bony consistency are uncommon and most spinal meningiomas are located posterolateral to the spinal cord. Bony calcifications anterior to the spinal cord cause surgical difficulties when central debulking is conducted before removing the tumor. We present a case of spinal meningioma with bony calcification located anterior to the spinal cord and discuss the management of this type of meningioma and how to evaluate the density of a spinal meningioma prior to operation.
