Endometriosis is one of the prevalent diseases that severely affect women's quality of life while they are of childbearing age. The symptoms of endometriosis include chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, abnormal uterine bleeding, painful menstruation, and decreased fertility. One of the most common clinical manifestations of endometriosis is painful menstruation or dysmenorrhea, which may negatively affect the woman's ability to work and reduces self-confidence. A 19-year-old girl who had taken painkillers during every menstrual cycle for several years presented at our outpatient clinic complaining again of intolerable abdominal pain after laparoscopic surgery and leuplin-depot injection therapy. She no longer suffered from dysmenorrhea after two-months of treatment with modified Gui-Zhi-Fu-Ling Wan thrice a day in combination with herbal fumigation. This case supports the use of Chinese herbal medicine in combination with herbal fumigation as an alternative therapy when relieving recurrent endometriosis.
