Aluminum stylet is generally used for adjusting the angle when placing endotracheal tube. We report a case receiving endotracheal intubation under general anesthesia using a stylet which broke accidentally. The stylet broke into two pieces suddenly during use. We attempted to locate the broken pieces in the trachea using flexible bronchoscopy but the locations cannot be confirmed. At the end of the surgery with the help of C-arm X-ray machine, we identified the broken piece stuck in the front end of the endotracheal tube. The endotracheal tube and the broken stylet were extubated together smoothly. Fortunately, no complication and discomfort happened to the patient after this event.
