The prevalence of heart disease is growing along with the aging population. Taiwan has now become an old-aged society. Taiwan population is estimated to consist 20% of elderly in 2025 and will become a super old-aged society. Bradycardia and cardiac conduction disturbance represent a main portion of heart diseases among the elderly. It is essential to diagnose the diseases correctly and carry out appropriate treatments accordingly. The American Society of Cardiology has published the guidelines for the assessment and treatment of bradycardia and cardiac conduction disturbance. We translated part of the contents and anticipate to be helpful for physicians dealing with the patients with the diseases.
