Non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of deaths worldwide and result in disability and a huge burden of medical expenses. In recent decades, because countries around the world have paid more and more attentions to nutrition issues, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan set up a Community Nutrition Promotion Center across 22 cities in 2018, which represents an important milestone of the development of community nutrition in Taiwan. This article will focus on the core competencies, knowledge, and skills required by community dietitians when implementing community affairs, and explore the current human power for the community nutrition service and topics related to training and certification, so that the community nutrition care in Taiwan can be better in the future.
