This study, based on the viewpoints of integrated theory, attempted to construct a causal model of impulsivity, parental monitoring and association with delinquent peers to explain junior high school students' deviant behavior. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effect of impulsivity, parental monitoring, and association with delinquent peers on junior high school student's deviant behavior. It also tried to find out the mediating effect of association with delinquent peers on the relationship between impulsivity and parental monitoring and junior high school students' deviant behavior. The sample consisted of 902 students from 10 junior high schools in five metropolitan areas in Taiwan. In this study, the statistical analysis was structure equation models. A number of important results were presented as follows: (1) There was reasonable and acceptable goodness of fitness in the preliminary fit criteria for overall model fit and fit of internal structure. (2) Impulsivity had significant direct impacts on delinquent peers and junior high school students' deviant behavior. It could also indirectly affect delinquency through association with delinquent peers, (3) Low parental monitoring had significant direct effects on delinquent peers, (4) Impulsivity, low parental monitoring, and association with delinquent peers played an important role in the explanation of delinquency.
