Guillain-Barre syndrome is an acute, symmetrical peripheral nerve inflammation that causes demyelinating disease.Two-thirds of the patients showed signs of infection before discase onset.This 46-year-old woman sufferred from paralysis in her extremities and shortness of breath a week after influenza B infection. Guillain-Barre syndrome was diagnosed as physical examination, neuroelectrophysiological study and cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed typical findings. An allergic reaction occurred immediately after the first dose of immunoglobulin injection. Therefore, five cycles of plasmapheresis was used instead combined with rehabilitation treatment. The patient had an uneventful stag and was subsequently discharged.Guillain-Barre syndrome should be kept in mind during future encompass of acute bilateral limb weakness after an infection.
