Due to language barriers and cultural differences, leisure constraint is positioned a critical issue of life environmental adaptation for Taiwanese foreign brides. This study is a topical comparison on leisure constraints between metropolitan and suburban foreign brides in Taiwan.Non-structured interview and qualitative thematic analysis are employed for data collection and analyses. The results, in summary, indicate that: (1) insufficient self-confidence, personal introversion, low family support, and high economic stress are crucial factors on leisure constraints for participants in both metropolitan and suburban areas, and (2) inconvenience of transportation may be leisure constraint factor in suburban areas, but not in metropolitan areas for participants. The study results might lay a foundation for future further research and governmental policy-modifying along these lines.
