半邊陲之台灣企業在世界體系的鑲嵌

摘要

本文試圖以世界體系中產業部門及廠商的層次，具體而微的來探討1980年代中期以後台灣企業如何藉由資本外移以及區域的生產分工，來讓自己更深入地鑲嵌在世界分工體系的半邊陲位置，並構築進入障礙，以阻礙更後進者的追趕、取代其半邊陲的角色。本文以世界體系全球商品鏈的觀點取代新國際分工「用後即丟」的邏輯來討論，台灣在半邊陲位置是繼續鑲嵌或向下位移的影響因素，以及台灣資本與中國大陸與東南亞國家之間的合作與競爭關係。

Since the mid-1980s, Taiwan's enterprises have further embedded themselves into the semi-periphery of the world system by means of capital outflow and regional division of labor. This essay attempts to analyze the upgrading process, concretely focusing on the level of the industry sectors, and even more on specific firms. During the last two decades, Taiwanese capitalists used the networking, involving and penetrating strategy very skillfully, thus constructed the entry barriers obstructing the latecomers' catch-up and replacement desire. I argue that the up or down of the role of Taiwan, and the cooperation and/or competition among Taiwan, China and Southeast Asia's enterprises, are affected by the global commodity chains, rather than the throw-away logic of the new international division of labor.
