The article analyzes the peculiarities of national worldview in Shukshin's works. This eminent writer is considered to be a brilliant representative of the Russian culture of the XXth century. He is known as a talented actor, an efficient producer and a celebrated writer. Socio-historical and ontological aspects of Shukshin's prose are defined as the topical issues of our study. The problem of a main character, its national feature in particular, originality in the style in the author's stories are on the focus of our study.
