摘要

近年來，「藝術介入空間」行動成為台灣當代藝術顯學，同時也有「新類型公共藝術」（NewGenre of Public Art）在藝術領域中引起的種種討論。這些創作及展覽的行動，有別於藝術家獨力完成的創作以及傳統的公共藝術，講求藝術家與公眾之間直接而實質的互動，來成就一件指向社會或關於人的生存狀態的創作。這類型的藝術創作，何以在藝術領域中獲得認可？本文從藝術社會學的角度分析當代藝術的發展脈絡與新類型公共藝術的關係，並論述此一類型的創作如何經由藝術家的實踐、展覽與出版的傳播，以及與文化政策呼應的價值，逐漸在台灣成為一種被認可的藝術。

”Art in Public Spaces” or New Genre of Public Art as an emerging art genre in Taiwan recently, it is different from the art works which made by artist him/herself or the traditional public art works ”Art in Public Spaces” usually focuses on the problems of social environment or personal life, and puts great stress on directly communication between artist and the public. How this kind of art be recognized in art world? This essay analyzed the relationship between ”Art in Public Spaces” and contemporary art through the sociology of art, then discuss on how the artist's works, the translated books, and critics make this kind of art to be admitted. Further, its value seems coincide with the cultural policy in Taiwan recent years. ”Art in Public Spaces” thus is recognized in art world.
