The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the middle aged & elderly's Leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction in practicing Tai Chi. The members who practice Tai Chi Chuan in the practice hall of Pingtung City and Nei-pu Hsiang, Chang-chih Hsiang, and Lin-lo Hsiang, in Pingtung County, were taken as the surveyed subjects. Totalizing 250 questionnaires were distributed to the participants. Excluding the invalid ones, 166 questionnaires were valid. After conducting statistic analysis, it's found that no significant difference was shown in the leisure satisfaction of the Tai Chi Chuan practicers of different gender, income, education, marital status, health, and living condition; and no significant difference was shown in the life satisfaction of the Tai Chi Chuan practicers of different gender, education, marital status, health, and living condition. The only significant difference, F=3.12* (p<.05), was shown in the variable of income. After conducting post comparison by means of Scheffe's method, it's found that the leisure satisfaction of the practicers who felt safe about their income was higher than those who felt less safe about their income. Concerning the influence of the middle-aged& elderly Tai Chi practicers' leisure satisfaction on their life satisfaction, it's shown from the regression analysis that leisure satisfaction could be a significant predictor, F=85.07* (p<.05), of life satisfaction. As the adjusting R^2=.34, it indicated that the interpretation capability was about 34%. Such a finding could be taken as the reference for the middle aged & elderly in choosing Tai Chi Chuan as their recreation.
