Anticipatory grief is reactions which a main caregiver responses to when a patient is deteriorating and even dying. This study aimed to develop Chinese Anticipatory Grief Scale and to establish its interpretability. 120 most bereaved families of terminally-illed cancer patients were included through convenience sampling. Many relationships between main caregiver's background information and anticipatory grief were also explored. As age was associated with anticipatory grief positively, so were main caregiver's physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing. Especially worth mentioned was that main caregiver's interaction with hospice team when hospitalized also related to anticipatory grief.
