摘要

On June 30, 2013, the seminar on IMO's Revised Interim Guidance on Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel was held at Xiamen University by the South China Sea Institute of Xiamen University (XMU-SCSI) in conjunction with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Center for Oceans Law and Policy, the Xiamen University Center for Oceans Policy and Law, and China Oceans Law Review. At the seminar, experts and scholars engaged in thorough discussions on the recently issued IMO Revised Interim Guidance to Shipowners, Ship Operators and Shipmasters on the Use of Privately Contracted Armed Security Personnel on Board Ships in the High Risk Area, and the problems that may arise from its implementation. This article is a summary report of the seminar.
