失控的空間還是另類的觀演經驗?-談2012新北市國際環境藝術節《五虎崗奇幻之旅》的展演觀察

A Performing Space out of Control or a Unique Theatre-going Experience?-On the Performance of "The Amazing Journey of Tamsui" in the 2012 New Taipei City International Environmental Arts Festival

摘要


2012新北市國際環境藝術節,延續過去三年淡水藝術節的展演傳統及環境劇場作品《西仔反傳說》之基礎,首次挑戰將淡水河岸老街改造為移動式的戶外劇場空間,創作出《五虎崗奇幻之旅》一劇。該劇利用四個定點和動線的控制,讓演員帶領著觀眾,在遠眺觀音山、背倚淡水河的自然實景條件下,參與觀賞四段淡水當地的歷史傳說故事。而在筆者親身參與及訪談觀眾後,嘗試從戲劇帶領之變化因素(人、事、時、地、物)分析該作品的觀演經驗與成敗之處,並提出改善的建議和提醒。此外,筆者也從綜觀淡水藝術節十年來的發展概況,對照檢視2012年的舉辦情形,注意到淡水在發展藝術節慶過程中的文化意義之變遷現象,包括:該藝術節層級的擴大對其核心訴求的影響、展演空間的改變所突顯的文化消費問題,以及透過觀光反思性的思考及操作,對身為地方社群的淡水人和節慶活動欲行銷的觀光客兩者之間所產生的衝突等。

Built on a previous show ”The Legend of the Sino-French War in Tamsui” performed at the Tamsui International Environmental Arts Festival for the past three years, the main theatrical performance ”The Amazing Journey of Tamsui” in the 2012 New Taipei City International Environmental Arts Festival unprecedentedly took place in the old streets of Tamsui. The audience members watched Tamsui folklore stories enacted by moving along designated routes and locations. In this paper, I analyze the weakness and strengths of this event based on my own observations and interviews with three audience members, and come up with suggestions for future improvement. In addition, by tracing the development of the Tamsui arts festival in the past decade, I examine the transformation and significance of this festival, especially focusing on the following three aspects: How does the changed scale of the festival transform its aim? How does the change of the venue lead to the problem of cultural consumption? What are some of the conflicts between local Tamsui residents and the targeted tourists?
