本研究主要目的有三:(一)探究國內一些培養服務及助人工作有關的大學系所學生,對老化所具的知識水準以及對老年人的態度如何?(二)將研究結果與國外研究結果相互印證,(三)提供各有關學系參酌,以便擬定適當策略加強培訓,期使畢業之後,樂於從事老人照護事業。本研究採用問卷調查法,採用目的抽樣方式,共抽取357位大學生與11位研究生接受調查研究,主要發現如下:一、男生所認定的老人年齡比女生所認定的老人年齡為年輕,性別差異顯著。二、大學生有關老化之知識水準屬於中等;對老人所持態度是中性的傾向。三、性別、是否曾經與老人同住、是否曾經與老人共事的經驗,其老化知識之差異不顯著;對老人的態度之差異,也不顯著。四、不同系別學生、不同年級學生所具老化知識有顯著差異。五、不同系別學生以及不同年級學生,對待老人的態度並無顯著差異。六、大學生本身的年齡與老人年齡之認定有顯著正相關。七、學生的父親年齡、學生的母親年齡等與老人年齡的認定,沒有顯著相關。八、大學生的老化知識與對老人的態度成顯著正相關。
The main purposes of this study are as follows: (1) To explore the knowledge level of university student-who are from the help and care profession departments, about aging and their attitudes toward older peoples. (2) To compare the research results with other countries' researches. (3) To provide strategies for related departments in student training, to enhance and encourage students' interest and attitudes in working with older people after graduation.A questionnaire survey and the purpose sampling were adopted to investigate 357 undergraduates and 11 graduate students. The major findings are as follows:1. Male students consider people as ”old” at a younger age comparing to female students' concept. Gender was found as a significant factor.2. Students have moderate knowledge about aging, as well as moderate attitudes toward older people.3. The research did not found significant differences among gender, knowledge about aging, attitude towards older people, prior experience living with older people, and prior experience working with older people.4. Significant differences were found among knowledge about aging, departments, and students' grade levels.5. There were no significant differences in attitudes toward older people among departments and students' grade levels.6. There was significant correlation between students' age and the age they considered as old age.7. There was no significant correlation between student parents' age and the age which students considered as old age.8. There was significant correlation between student's knowledge about aging and their attitude toward older people.
