青少女社會體型焦慮與身體活動之間的關係:同儕關係的中介效果

The relationship between social physique anxiety and physical activity for female adolescents: The mediation effect of peer relationship

摘要


目的:本研究主要目的在於分析高中階段青少女在社會體型焦慮、同儕關係與身體活動之關係,並探究同儕關係對青少女社會體型焦慮預測身體活動的影響。方法:採方便取樣,以南部兩所高級中學一、二年級女學生(共201人,平均年齡16.03±0.69歲)為研究對象。採用社會體型焦慮量表、青少年同儕關係量表及Godin休閒時間身體活動問卷,以班級團體施測方法進行。使用描述性統計、皮爾森積差相關與階層迴歸分析各項資料。結果:1.社會體型焦慮與同儕關係及身體活動皆呈顯著的負相關;而同儕關係則與身體 活動呈顯著正相關。2.社會體型焦慮可以顯著預測同儕關係及身體活動;同儕關係也可以顯著預測身體活動。3.同儕關係在青少女社會體型焦慮影響身體活動的過程中扮演完全中介的角色。結論:青少女的社會體型焦慮越高,其身體活動越差,主要是因為高的社會體型焦慮造成低的同儕關係,進而影響身體活動。建議:此研究結果具未來研究及實務應用之價值,且供教師針對高中青少女社會體型焦慮者相關輔導具體策略。未來教師在鼓勵女學生從事身體活動時,可以從同儕關係著手,藉由同儕支持影響女學生參與運動的意願。

Purpose: The main purpose of this study were to analyze the relationship among social physique anxiety, peer relationship and physical activities of adolescent girls in high school, and to explore the impact of peer relationship on social physique anxiety predicted physical activity. Method: Using convenience sampling, two high school 11-12 grades female students (n=201, average age 16.03 ± 0.69 years) in southern participated for the study. The participants completed the measurements about social physique anxiety scale (SPAS), adolescent peer relationship scale and Godin leisure-time exercise questionnaire in their class. Using descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple hierarchical regression to analysis data. Results: 1. Social physique anxiety was significantly negative correlations with peer relationship and physical activity; and peer relationship was significant positive correlation with physical activity. 2. Social physique anxiety could significantly predict peer relationship and physical activity; peer relationship also could predict physical activity. 3. Peer relationship had mediation effect in social physique anxiety affect physical activity for female adolescents. Conclusion: Female adolescents who higher social physique anxiety have poor physical activity. The main reason may be the high social physique anxiety incited low peer relationship and then declined physical activity. Suggestion: The results of this study have a value for practical application and future research. It provides related counseling strategies to teachers for high school adolescent girls who has social physique anxiety. In the future, teachers could encourage female students to engage in physical activity through peer support.
