The development of professional sports in Taiwan started more than ten years ago. However, the contract used between the professional athletes and the franchise has been an issue for some time. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contract conditions used in the professional sports leagues in Taiwan. Standard contract and adhesion contract that are regularly used in the business activity were analyzed. Based on the current social-economical status, the principle of sports management and the law of discipline, step-by-step comparisons were made between the standard contract and the adhesion contract and the one that has been used in Taiwan Major League Professional Baseball. It is the hope that the contract format that is usually followed in the world of business can be adapted in future negotiation between the professional athletes and the ball clubs to protect the rights of our athletes.
