摘要

本文提出蘭嶼─巴丹作為一個「區域研究」的分析框架，擬從兩地神話傳說與口傳資料切入，並與考古學、民族誌等資料進行對話，輔以歷史分析與文化詮釋的雙重檢視，期能建構兩地關係史的創新理解途徑，進而釐清蘭嶼與巴丹兩地的歷史事實、族群關係及其文化類緣。同時，藉由本文，期能讓臺灣蘭嶼與菲律賓巴丹島之間的跨國境族群關係與文化體系，能有重新建構，更臻完善的契機。

This paper proposes the Orchid-Batan regional study framework and attempts to investigate the interaction between archeology and ethnography of these two places in terms of mythical legends and oral histories. With historical scrutiny and cultural interpretation, this paper attempts to construct a new way to understand the history, ethnic relationship and cultural correlation of these two places. Additionally, this paper offers an opportunity to reconstruct and improve the cross-border ethnic relationship and cultural system between Orchid Island, Taiwan and Batanes Islands, the Philippines.
