分析三軍總醫院兒童牙科病患以全身麻醉方式接受全口重建之相關因素

Analysis of Factors Associated with Full Mouth Dental Rehabilitation under General Anesthesia in Children at Tri-Service General Hospital

Purpose: The objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the children underwent full mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia at the Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. Methods: One hundred and eighty-six patients who have received full mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia from year 2001 to 2007 were enrolled in this study. Statistical analyses with SPSS 13.0 software were performed on variables. Results: In early childhood caries (ECC) group, the average age of the patients were declined from 3.8 to 2.8 years old from year 2001 to 2005. The ECC group showed a higher number of resin restorations, pulpotomies, and SSCs and a lower number of amalgam restorations and extractions than those of the disabled group (p<0.05). The anesthesia recovery time was longer in the disabled group than that in the ECC group (p=0.01). The disabled group exhibited the highest number of post-operation recall visits in the first year. There were 11 children had visited Pediatric Psychiatrist for evaluating behavior problems after GA treatment. Conclusion: The government and the community ought to educate parents about the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases to improve the oral health of youngsters.
