An Investigation of Basic Competence and Skills Learning Sequence for Inline Skating Coach

The purpose of this investigation was to explore basic competence and skills learning sequence for inline skating coach. Subjects of this study were inline skating coaches in Taiwan. Basic competence questionnaire and purpose sampling method were adopted for data collection. Total of three hundred questionnaires were distributed and 271 copies retrieved (90.3%). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheff'smethed, and Pearson's product-moment correlation. The result of this study discovered: (1) male and high level coaches emphasize the origin and development of inline skating in basic competence. (2) Inline skating training theories were valued by male coaches, sports related degree graduate coaches, and licensed coaches. (3) Coaches with national athletes experience and level B coaches recognize inline skating training capability was important. (7) Level A and B coaches equipped withmental training and operational ability. (8) Basic competence and self-equipped competence showed positive correlation. (9)Skills learning sequence were ranked from easy to difficult and proper for efficient learning. This research suggested that coaching seminars should be hold in routine period by related sport association. Regulations should be established to guide non-licensed coaches to acquire license as qualified inline skating coaches. Coaches should review and reduce gaps between basic competence and self-equipped competence. Finally, inline skating coaches were encouraged to adopt skills learning sequence for effective learning.
