This study was with a focus on to investigate the effect of paired period and paired density on fecundity of the rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton)). The eggs of this species were first reared in the jars containing crushed japonica rice brown rice, and place them in a growth chamber at 30 ± 1℃, 70 ± 5% RH, with a 12L:12D photoperiod for rearing multiple generations. Then the experiments were conducted to investigate the longevity, oviposition period, and fecundity of female rice moth unpaired, paired for 1 day and entire life. And research the fecundity of female rice moth with pairing density of 1 to 6 pairs at a sex ratio of 1:1. The results indicated that the longevity of unpaired virgin female was 10.3±0.2 days, which was longer than that of paired for 1 day (7.7±0.2 days) and entire life (7.6±0.3 days). That is, the mating behavior after pairing will shorten the longevity of female rice moths, but the length of pairing period will not affect the longevity of paired female. The oviposition period of unpaired virgin female was 7.9±0.3 days, which was also longer than that of paired for 1 day (6.0±0.2 days) and entire life (6.3±0.2 days). The fecundity of female rice moth was the highest at 450.0±10.5 eggs in the paired entire life group, followed by 372.3±18.1 eggs in the paired 1 day group, and the least at 318.5±10.8 eggs in the unpaired female group. That is, the fecundity of female increased with the longer the paired period. The fecundity of female decreased with the increase of pairing density in this species, and the maximum fecundity of female were paired with 1 and 2 pairs in different pairing density groups. A linear regression relationship was existed between the average fecundity and pairing density of female rice moth.
