商營網站的無障礙程度－以入口網站首頁為例

Accessibility of Commercial Web Sites: A Study of Portal Sites' Home Page in Taiwan

摘要

當電子商務日益興盛，如何讓使用者能有效地近用商品與服務已成為關鍵議題。對身心障礙者而言，僅將商品與服務置於網上並無法確保他們能夠近用無虞，然而大部分的網頁無障礙規範或研究，又僅及於教育或公共行政領域，致使身心障礙者在從事電子商務時總是困難重重。本文以為，入口網站首頁是最多人造訪的商營網站網頁，透過檢測入口網站首頁的無障礙程度，應可一窺當下商營網站的無障礙程度。據此，本文針對台灣地區八個入口網站的九個首頁進行檢測，結果發現入口網站首頁的錯誤違犯率、錯誤項目和總數都明顯偏高，這意味著對身心障礙者而言，進入商營網站的大門尚未開啟，商營網站對網頁無障礙的重視程度亟待大幅提升。

It goes without saying that commercial websites try their best to let consumers access their products and services effectively. But putting information on the web is not equal to accessing content effectively. It's a pity that most researches in web accessibility are about education and public administration. However the most popular commercial web site is the portal site. If we can understand portal sites' accessibility, we will have an opportunity to comprehend commercial sites' accessibility further. For this reason, this paper investigates the accessibility of portal sites' home page in Taiwan. The result indicates every home page makes mistakes and is in general inaccessible to disabilities. That means commercial websites still have a lot to do before their home page becomes accessible to disabilities.
