墾丁地區的猛禽新記錄種─黑冠鵑隼
Rare Raptor Report: Black Baza (Aviceda leuphotes) at Kenting National Park

On 22 October 1999, while I was conducting the autumn raptor migration survey at Sheting in Kenting National Park (KNP), southern Taiwan. I saw 2 Black Bazas (Aviceda leuphotes) flying over. This is a new record of this migratory raptor for KNP and probably for Taiwan. From 1999 to the present, 18 individuals have been recorded Taiwan is not located in the Black Baza's regular migration route. The reason for its occurrence here requires further study.
