Rehabilitation of an injured Osprey

On May 23, 2014, an Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) was found entangled in netting at a golf practice course near Guandu Nature Park, Taipei City. The Osprey was rescued by local Park rangers and golf course workers. It was brought to Wild Bird Rescue Center at Wild Bird Society of Taipei and then further examined by a veterinarian from animal hospital of Taiwan University. The examination revealed an injured right foot. As a Wild Bird Rescue Center volunteer, the author took part in the Osprey rehabilitation work. After nearly a month of progress, the Osprey recovered completely and was released in Guandu on June 20. Following are the details of its rehabilitation process.
