自然環境對人類居住的影響
The Impact of Natural Environment on Human Living Places
摘要
人類的進化是從樹上下來的，後來居住建築的形成，除了防止猛獸敵人、洪水的侵襲之外，最重要的是為了自然環境的順應吧！以馬來西亞的高地板住宅、薩摩亞（samoa）的雨擋住宅、台灣的騎樓建築形式，歐洲各國的牆壁厚度、舊金山起伏的街道景觀、日本氣候影響到國土構造等等為例，我們可以發現人類不只在精神上、肉體上受到周圍自然環境的影響，而且在衣、食、住、行無一被自然環境所限制。以今日人類的科學技術在地球表面各地、所有的地形、氣候環境裡均具備有生存的智慧與能力，但這在生物學上的意義，只不過只是「生存」的可能而已，如果通過真正「生產」與「消費」兩方面的社會經濟生活，必須順應自然環境才能成立。

The evolution of human living places started from trees. Besides to prevent the invasion of wild animals, enemies and floods, one of the major reasons of creating living places is to adapt to the natural environment, for example, the kampong house on stilts in Malaysia, thatched fale in Samoa, building arcade in Taiwanese architecture, thick wall in European architecture, curvy streetscape in San Francisco and national-level spatial and physical aspects but also in daily lives including clothing, food, living and commuting. Although the development of science and technology allows us to survive under various topographical and weather conditions on earth, which only presents part environment for living also involves the activity of producing and consuming in social, economic lives.
