本研究主要目的乃在探討台灣獅陣入廟儀式之行爲,及其蘊含在儀式背後之文化意涵。在台灣的傳統廟會活動中,台灣獅陣的宗教儀式是不可或缺的部份,更經常扮演慶典活動中的重要角色;其中,尤以入廟儀式最具代表性。本研究採口述研究法進行,研究結果顯示台灣獅陣入廟儀式有二種:一爲新廟落成之入廟儀式;一爲建醮之入廟儀式。新廟落成的入廟儀式主要功能是驅邪鎮煞,而建醮則爲參拜神明。在新廟入廟儀式中,台灣獅陣充分運用了兵器、戰鼓和獅頭等爲媒介,並以這些器物的作用造成類似辟邪物的效果-如戰鼓聲響代表的是千軍萬馬之勢,藉此達到驅邪之目的。因此,筆者認爲獅陣入廟的儀式行爲是辟邪的一種形式,屬於辟邪文化現象的一隅。
The purpose of this study was to investigate the ritual behavior and cultural implication of entrancing temple of Taiwanese Lion formation. The religious ceremony of lion dance was an essential part for the traditional religious festival activities in Taiwan, and played an important role of the religious process. Especially, the entrancing temple of Taiwanese Lion formation was a representative religious ceremony. The present research used the method of narrating to collect data and subsequently analysis to reveal that there were two approaches to entrance temple of Taiwanese Lion formation, one was the time when a new temple of a construction and the other time was festival day. The function of entrancing temple of Taiwanese Lion formation when the completion of a new temple was evil avoiding and evil calming, however, the festival day was to make a formal visit to celestial being. At the completion of a new temple, Taiwanese Lion formation adequately made use of weaponry, battle drum, and lion's head to produce the evil avoiding effect, for example, the renown of striking war drum represented a large number of mounted and foot soldiers and achieved the aim of avoiding evil. Therefore, we considered that the ritual behavior of entrancing temple of Taiwanese Lion formation was an evil avoiding form; also it was a phenomenon of expressing evil avoiding culture.
