Migraine is a common idiopathic headache which results in disability, severe and recurrent headache. A 44 years-old female patient has suffered from migraine since 18 years ago with no abnormality noted in electroencephalogram and limited improvement with medication. TCM diagnosis are liver-kidney yin deficiency and liver qi ascending counterflow with insecurity of exterior qi. We prescribed modified Qi Ju Di Huang Wan plus Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang. No headache attack for one week. Symptoms improved after herbal treatment for weeks.
