Autism is a form of pervasive developmental disorder; its treatment has been unsatisfactory. The autistic boy aged 8 years came with the symptoms of agitation, scarce eye contact, poor concentration, scarce verbal expression, and the fixed forms of tics. The Chinese medicine diagnosis is spleen and stomach Qi deficiency and heart spirit malnutrition. The prescription is modified Minor Middle-Strengthening Decoction (XiaoJianZhongTang) and Licorice-Wheat-Jujube Decoction (GanMaiDaZaoTang). Patient's symptoms have improved significantly after treatment, and he is being followed up continuously since.
