This study investigated the relationship between parenting style and teacher discipline style. To explore the effect of parenting style on teacher discipline style, questionnaires were distributed to 1,290 junior high school teachers in Taiwan. The data obtained was analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation and path analysis. The results showed that (1) parenting style and teacher discipline style were significantly correlated; and (2) parenting style and teacher discipline style showed a good fit in the intergenerational transmission model. Based on the results, discussion, implication and suggestions for teacher training institutes, parenting education and future research were proposed.
