In clinical practice, medical adhesive products are frequently used to secure catheters or dressings. However, repeated application may cause patients' skin to become sensitive and fragile, potentially leading to skin tears. Therefore, enhancing nurses' awareness of and prevention strategies for medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) is crucial. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we designed a curriculum that includes lectures, video discussions, and experiential workshops to teach the definition of MARSI, internal and external risk factors for high-risk populations, the selection of appropriate medical adhesive products, and correct application and removal techniques. Effective assessment tools, such as the MARSI high-risk case assessment form and alert cards, are utilized to enhance nurses' knowledge and skills. Finally, we established MARSI prevention care standards and an audit and reporting system, integrating education and practice to improve care quality and prevent skin injuries caused by medical adhesive products.
