摘要
「思想與存在的統一」是黑格爾哲學的基本原理。思想與存在、主觀理性與客觀理性兩者是同一個秩序。世界之所以顯現出和諧秩序，便是因為「睿智」內在於世界，因此具有可理解性。自然界含藏的普遍規律是自然律，吾人的認知符應於自然律，認知才具有客觀妥實性；精神界的普遍規律是自然法，吾人的行為合乎倫理實體的規範，才具有倫理正當性，此即「客體思維」之意。總念在原始的自身分化中，置定自己的「它者」，因此產生總念與「它者」的差異，並且解銷外在映現所產生的矛盾衝突，因此回復到統一。這個統一就是理念。總念包含有兩重否定：首先通過否定「存在」的真理性，來肯定「本質」的真理性，這是「第一重否定」；之後，解銷「一切規定性都是否定性」的片面性，補之以「一切否定性都是規定性」，這是「第二重否定」。通過這個自成起結的圓圈，因此認識到一切事物都是「存在」與「本質」相反規定的具體統一，這個統一就是總念。

Unity of thought and being is the fundamental principle of Hegel's philosophy. The underlying reason for the world appearing to be harmonious and being intelligible to us is that nous indwells in the world. Both subjective reason and objective reason are of the same order in that they are the two moments of Absolute Idea's original self-dividing activity. The validity of human cognition consists in its conforming to the universal law implicit in natural world. The ethical justifiability of human behavior consists in its conforming to the universal law implicit in spiritual world. Such are the essential meanings of objective thinking.
