RESEARCH ON DESIGNING A SERVICE-BASED TRANSLATION COURSE FOR UNIVERSITY SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

實踐大學社會責任之服務導向翻譯課程設計研究

摘要


The purpose of this teaching practice research was to design a service-based translation course (STC) for not only translation teaching but also for teachers and students to fulfill university social responsibility. This course design was implemented through three translation projects: the culture project, technology project, and education project. This research employed mixed research methods. The qualitative data included students' translation, interviews, learning portfolios, reflections, and analysis of audio/video recordings. The quantitative data included the scoring of the students' translations, an end-of-term questionnaire survey, and a gender equity literacy scale. All students had positive perceptions of the STC and expected more services. In total, the STC consisted of 11 units and 25 intended learning outcomes (ILOs). There were 8 ILOs for translation learning, 14 for service learning, and 3 for interdisciplinary learning. The degree of achievement of the ILOs was 76%, and 6 ILOs had some remaining problems. The corresponding solutions were proposed, and teaching guidelines were provided.

本研究目的為設計一門「服務導向翻譯課程」,此翻譯教學過程讓師生有機會實踐大學社會責任。師生共計完成三個翻譯服務專案:文化專案、科技專案和教育專案。本研究採混合研究方法。質性資料包括學生的譯文、訪談稿、學習檔案、學習反思和錄音/錄影紀錄。量化資料包括學生譯作評分、期末問卷調查及大學生性別平等素養量表等。所有學生對「服務導向翻譯課程」(STC)持正面的態度,並期待提供更多服務。STC共計11個單元和25個預期學習成果:8個為「翻譯學習成果」、14個為「服務學習成果」及3個「跨領域學習成果」。預期學習成果的達成率為76%,只有6個尚待解決的問題,本研究提出了對應的解決方案及教學建議。
