The purpose of this study was to investigate the preference and perception of different herbaceous flower color combination. Four combinations with different hue (yellow and yellowish orange, yellow and orange, yellow and red, yellow and purple) were used to measure twelve color perceptions and preferences. Respondents were randomly selected from National Taiwan University campus and 400 valid questionnaires were obtained. Study results showed that different combinations of herbaceous flower color significantly influenced respondents' color preference. Yellow and purple combination was mostly preferred followed by yellow and yellowish orange combination, yellow and orange combination. The yellow and red combination was least preferred. The study also found that all twelve color perceptions of four herbaceous flower color combinations were significantly different.
