摘要

倒地鈴(Cardiospermum halicacabum L.)之種子因具硬實外殼造成發芽率低落。為提升發芽率，本試驗比較10 種不同的種子處理方法。結果利用浸泡95%濃硫酸12小時或刻傷處理均可有效促進種子發芽，發芽率可達85%-90%。但是雙氧水、漂白水以及冷、熱自來水浸泡處理則皆不發芽。另外比較摘心次數對植株生育之影響，結果摘心3次可有效抑制株高，同時增加側蔓數及著果數，使株形更美觀，更具盆花觀賞價值。

The hard seed coat restrains germination of balloon vine (Cardiospermum halicacabum L.). In order toincrease the rate of germination, ten different seed treatments were tested. The seeds soaked in 95% sulfuricacid for 12 hours or abraded before sowing had 85%-90% of germination. No germination was recorded inthe seeds soaked in hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, and hot or cold tap water. Number of pinchingaffected the growth of potted plants. Three times of bud-pinching during the vegetative period significantlyreduced plant height, increased the numbers of lateral tendrils and fruits, and thus improved the esthetic valueof balloon vine potted plants.
