摘要

可持續發展已成為一個國家總合國力是否能夠持續發展和壯大；經濟是否能跨越「代際間」公平發展的指標。因此，可持續發展，成為了關心經濟發展的學者專家們，一直深思的課題。
本文先從聯合國如何架構及推動可持續發展的努力，然後列舉過去著名經濟學家的一些理論來驗證可持續發展，亦即經濟發展、社會發展、環境保護的三個組成的支柱，事實上，或多或少已被這些經濟學家所認知，特別是自然資源和環境的制約性。
本文試圖將經濟發展、社會發展、環境保護等三個支柱，轉換成可持續發展的等邊三角形架構。如果做大等邊三角形的面積，國家綜合國力將因此而提昇，同時也可以延續「代際間」的公平經濟發展。
同時，中國大陸的各個區域經濟發展，不論以後如何集眾整合，都將受到可持續發展的挑戰。特別是中國大陸，在享有這十五年的(1990-2005)經濟迅速發展的成果之餘，更要謹慎面對可持續發展的不可動搖定律，亦即「代際間」的公平，那麼中國就有可能「和平崛起」，代代享有經濟發展、社會發展、環境保護等的建設和發展成果。

Sustainable development is not only a key measurement to evaluate the potential national power; it also can be used as an indicator to estimate the balance of regional economics from time to time. Therefore, sustainable development has become a significant studying subject for many scholars and experts who concern economic development.
In the beginning of this assay, the efforts form Union Nation of forming and promoting sustainable development will be described, and then some supportive theories proposed by famous economists will also be bought up to demonstrate sustainable development are focusing on three key elements, which are economic development, social development and environmental protection. In the matter of fact, those theories are more or less known and applied by many economists, especially the limitations of the environment and nature resources.
This assay will use economic development, social development and environmental protection, three key elements of sustainable development, to draw an equilateral triangle to highlight the value and balance of each element. In order words, it manifests the equal development among these three elements can actually enhance the national power and maintain the balance of regional economics.
In the meantime, the regional economic development in Mainland China will have a great chance to face the challenge to build up the sustainable development ability no matter how the resources can be integrated. Especially under the rapidly economic growth within near 15 years (1990-2005), Mainland China need to be more careful on handling and remaining development balance among economics, society and environment from time to time. If the equilateral triangle of sustainable development can be successfully established, Mainland China will enable to take the benefits and advantages of the development outcomes for centuries.
