John Hick (1922-and) Don Cupitt (1934-) have been regarded as the two most famous philosophers of religion of this day. Whereas Hick admittedly has become the representative of ”religious critical realism” by his appreciation of and creative application of Immanuel Kant's celebrated critical philosophy as the foremost religious theory, Cupitt is the advocates of ”religious non/anti-realism” by his persistence in the post-modern spirit? of deconstruction or revolution of traditions. This essay investigates and compares the two philosophers' thoughts through their metaphysics, epistemologies and ethics.
