護理教材之案例分析與應用

Use of Case Studies in Nursing Education

摘要


近年來台灣教育界提倡多元化活潑的教學設計,各界不斷努力探索實用、有效的醫護教學方法,以適應社會發展對醫療保健的需求及培育社會健康照護人才之需要。通常案例分析(case study)或案例教學(case method)是運用護理過程改善病人健康問題之一重要過程。護理是一門實用科學,除需具備專業知識、技能及價值體系外,可藉由案例分析教學設計培養學生之問題解決能力、臨床決策能力、批判性思考能力等三大能力,使學生未來於臨床實習時能發揮能力,適當應用在病人身上。本文介紹有關案例分析之相關概念,著重於如何設計、評價此創意教學課程,包括:如何選擇案例、案例分析撰寫的過程、內容、案例分析後之問題討論、成效的評量等,最後列舉實例作說明,希望藉此讓醫護教育者能在課程準備時做參考,提升護理教學品質,培育更優秀的醫護新生代。

In recent years, Taiwan's education community has been promoting diverse, innovative course designs. Practical and effective instructional methods are as necessary for medical and healthcare education as they are for any field. Case studies can play an important role in nursing school course design. Nursing is a practical science. While based firmly on a large body of knowledge, good nursing also requires the honing of professional skills and development of a value system. The case study method is particularly useful for developing three major competencies: problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making. Students exposed to this method can begin to practice these skills in the classroom, giving them a head start once they begin their clinical internship. Innovative course design based on case studies requires knowing how to select a good case, careful attention to case details, and stimulation of discussion both during and after class. Good course design also requires evaluation of its effectiveness. We believe that properly designed nursing case study material can improve the overall quality of nursing education, with the ultimate goal of training excellent nurses.
