The Formosa Fun Coast explosion was a major public disaster that caused international shockwaves. All medical team members and administrative departments provided strong support in the aftermath of this disaster. Nursing staff made an all-out effort to care for patients injured in the explosion, which may have been responsible for the miracle of a zero death rate, for the first time in the world. In this review, we introduced the knowledge connotation and core competence of disaster nursing. In addition, we applied the cooperative concept of team resource management to share how to wage a successful war. This article aimed to use disaster management concepts and share the modules of leadership, assistance, and communication in response to this major burn event. We hope this article can act as a reference regarding disaster nursing related to professional development education and the advance of team resource management.
