Exploring the Information Behavior of Chinese Students Applying for Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies in Taiwan

Since 2011, when Chinese students were allowed to study in Taiwan, the proportion of Chinese students studying in Taiwan has shown a trend of stability or even increase. Especially in recent years when the number of applicants for master and doctoral programs has exceeded the quota given. During their undergraduate studies, some Chinese students lose interest in their original disciplines, so they came up with the idea of learning another continuing subject for advanced studies. This study using the semi-structured interview method, and taking 15 Chinese students who study in Taiwan and choose the Institute of Interdisciplinary Education as the research object. We realize that Chinese students often use the Internet and interpersonal relationships when searching for information about schools, departments and writing materials. So, it is recommended to the official website for the examination can add some successful cases of Chinese students' application. What's more, the libraries of colleges can also add a section to register for examination on the campus Intranet, and provide advisory services for declaration, so as to facilitate the rapid acquisition of timely information by Chinese students.
