Analyzing Teacher-Student Interaction of University PE Course through Direct Instruction Behavior Analysis Systematic Observation

(二)在學生行為方面:以認知參與 (cognitive engaged) 所占49.85%為最高;其次為動作參與(motor engaged) 28.12%;以下依序為準備器材(getting engaged equipment or relocates)12.96%;準備回應(response preparing)佔9.07%;等待輪流(waits for a turn)佔0%;離開活動(off task)佔0%。

This research concerns about design of physical education and improvement of teaching behavior. The purpose of this study was to analyze the teacher of university who is proper to use time. This study use Direct Instruction Behavior Analysis (DIBA) to examine teacher-student interaction in order to inspect the time allocation of university athletics. The observational instrument with DIBA was designed to collect data from teacher and student behaviors that can be used in analyzing teaching performance. Additionally, this study uses the ”Physical Education Teaching and Sport Coaching Observation System” (PETSCOS) to record observational data. The result shows that ”Teacher behavior” was 45.31% and ”Student behavior” was 54.69%. In teacher's behavior, ”Informing” is the most frequent behavior, representing 35.20% of the coded behaviors. This behavior was 3.73% higher than the second highest variable. Following these two categories were ”Observing” (14.92%), ”Feedback” (14.20%), ”Structuring” (2.83%), ”Questioning” (1.38%), and two other categories with 0%. In student's behavior, ”Cognitive Engaged” is the most frequently occurring variable, representing 49.85% of the coded behaviors. Following the highest category was ”Motor Engaged” (28.12%), ”Getting Engaged Equipment or Relocates” (12.96%), ”Response Preparing” (9.07%) but ”Wait for a turn” and ”Off Task” is never occurred. This study suggested that physical education teacher should make the best of using systematic observation instrument to improve teaching. It is not only examine teaching by themselves but also accumulate a huge mass of teaching experiences.
